Transportation around the Quad Cities' downtowns just got easier. A new bus service to take visitors is available starting 2/4/10. Called the Loop, the busses will travel to The District, downtown Moline, downtown Bettendorf, the Village of East Davenport, and downtown Davenport.
Location: District stop 18th Street & 2nd Avenue
Cost: $1 per trip or $3 for an all-day pass.
Hours: Thursday - Saturday 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If you're in the area, check out the new Centennial Bridge Visitor Center at 201 15th Street, Rock Island. The Center showcases displays of Mississippi River bridges and rare photographs. Find out information about the area, buy your souvenir, or rent a bike to take along the riverfront bike path.
