The bi-state Start! Heart Walk, presented by American Heart Association, educates the Quad Cities area about the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, and what we can do to prevent them. Funds raised support medical research, regional grants, and educational programs of the American Heart Association.
Walkers first walk 1-mile or 3-mile route which starts in The District, crosses the Arsenal Bridge, follows LeClaire Park bike path, and crosses Centennial Bridge to the finish line. There are route stops along the way.
At the finish line, walkers can enjoy music, entertainment, healthy snacks, health screeings, a kids' area, nutritional information, shoe fittings, and more.
There is no cost to participate in the Heart Walk, but walkers are encouraged to raise funds for the American Heart Association.
