District Membership

Members of The District join for a wide variety of reasons.  Some join so they have a voice. Some join because they envision The District as a destination. Some join for tangible benefits. 
 

• All members will receive a weekly email to keep you up to date on local news and happenings.
• District members have the opportunity to network with your business neighbors, stay informed as to new developments, and work together to promote our downtown.  In 2011, we will be hosting quarterly meetings to keep you up to date and in the know.
• Your business can be included as a Gallery Hop! destination - promoting your business in conjunction with MidCoast Fine Arts.  An artist is provided for District Members.
• Your business will be listed on this web site. Only District members are listed.
• The District serves as your information source by encouraging tourism and providing visitor information.
• You will receive the Renaissance Rock Island Newsletter, keeping you informed on matters pertinent to all of Rock Island, especially our downtown.
• Use of The District logo in your advertising and promotions, including a member static sticker to help promote your involvement.
• Reduced vendor fees for member businesses wishing to have a food or merchandise booth at District sponsored events.
• Your business can be included as a Gallery Hop! destination - promoting your business in conjunction with MidCoast Fine Arts.
• Prime special event exposure— 100,000 people are expected to visit downtown during special events this year. Special event advertising valued at over $100,000  is designed to promote The District and increase community awareness.
• Downtown clean up—every weekend.  Your membership helps The District fund and organize trash pick up downtown.
• Your business will be part of a nationally recognized arts & entertainment district.
• Downtown Rock Island will be represented through The District’s active membership in the Quad Cities Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Illinois Quad Cities Chamber of  Commerce, Illinois Main Street, Quad Cities Presenters, and other festival and event associations.
• Every year, hundreds of volunteers donate countless hours to help make The District a success while providing a valuable service to the community.
• The District is continually searching for additional funding sources, including grants and sponsorship to support arts, cultural, and marketing efforts.
• Active voice with the City of Rock Island and the Quad Cities as a whole. Together with Renaissance Rock Island, The District will become stronger and better able to achieve our goals. Together, we will continue these efforts to build a strong and vibrant activity center.

What is the membership fee?
If you currently are not a District member, now is your chance. We're happy to announce an introductory membership rate of $250 for your first year. The regular membership rate is $300 per year.
